Data Deletion
Last updated: March 20, 2026
Ocean Drop respects your right to control your personal data. You can delete data stored on your device directly in the app. For cloud-account level deletion related to your Google account, you must use Google's account/privacy controls.
1. How to Request Data Deletion
You can delete your data in two ways:
Option A — In-App Device Data Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the Ocean Drop app.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Local Data (or equivalent delete action).
- Confirm your decision.
- Your app data stored on this device is removed.
Option B — Google Account Cloud Data Controls
- Open your Google Account settings: myaccount.google.com.
- Use Google's privacy/data controls to manage or remove data connected to your Google account.
- For sign-in/session revocation, remove Ocean Drop access from your Google connected apps.
2. What Is Deleted In-App
When you use in-app deletion, Ocean Drop removes app data stored on your device, such as local profile/cache/check-in records available on that device installation.
- Device-local app data — local profile/cache and app state on your device.
- Session data — local login/session data on that device.
Note: cloud-account level data controls are managed through your Google account settings.
3. Cloud Data and Third-Party Controls
Cloud-account and identity-provider level data controls are handled through Google. Please use your Google Account privacy controls for cloud-side data/account actions.
- Google Account controls: myaccount.google.com
- Connected apps access: revoke Ocean Drop access from your Google connected apps list.
4. Timeline
- In-app local data deletion: immediate after confirmation on device.
- Google-side cloud/account actions: timing depends on Google's processing timelines and policies.
5. Partner Sync Considerations
If your account is linked to a partner:
- Only your data is deleted — your partner's separate data remains intact.
- The partner sync connection will be severed.
- Your partner will be notified that the sync has been disconnected (but not that you deleted your account).
6. Confirmation
In-app local deletion is confirmed inside the app flow. For Google cloud/account actions, confirmation and final status are handled by Google in your Google Account dashboard.
