Protocol 001 · Field Manual

You are not bad at this.
You are missing
the clock.

Her hormones run a 28-day loop. Four phases. Each one rewrites how she wants you to show up. Most guys run the same move all month and wonder why some weeks feel like walking on glass. The difference isn't effort. It's timing.

What the research actually says

Three myths the other guides are still selling you.

Every non-trivial claim in our manual is tagged to the primary literature. These three are the biggest misreads in the space — and the reason most men’s-cycle content makes you worse at reading the room, not better.

Peer-reviewed · 2008–2020
Myth 01Killed

"Period = worst mood. Brace for the bleed."

The evidence

Inverted. PMS/PMDD symptoms cluster 3–5 days BEFORE the bleed and remit within ~2 days of bleeding onset. The hard week is the one you’re in, not the one coming.

Hantsoo & Epperson, Neurobiology of Stress (2020) · Yonkers, The Lancet (2008)

Myth 02Killed

"Women stray / cheat more when they’re ovulating."

The evidence

Null. The "ovulatory shift" mate-preference hypothesis has failed multiple large preregistered replications. Libido rises; who she finds attractive does not.

Jünger et al., Hormones & Behavior (2018) · Stern, Gerlach & Penke, Psychological Science (2020)

Myth 03Killed

"All women get PMS. It’s just how it is."

The evidence

Wrong. Pooled global prevalence of any PMS is ~47%. PMDD is 1.6–5.3%. Roughly 30–50% of women report minimal cycle-related mood change. Don’t project the stereotype — track her pattern.

Direkvand-Moghadam et al., J Clin Diag Research (2014) · Epperson et al., Am J Psychiatry (2012)

Ocean Drop is the only men’s-cycle resource that tags every claim to the primary literature. 10 citations in the €7 Field Manual. 4–6 more in each of the 4 phase deep dives. If anyone else in this market cites their sources, we’ll buy you the book.

How it works

Three moves. That is the whole protocol.

01

Read

Thirteen pages. Four phases. Eight real-world scripts. Every non-trivial claim cited. Read it once on a flight or a Saturday morning.

02

Mark

Pin the one-page cheat sheet on your lockscreen. Note which week she’s in. Takes ten seconds.

03

Move

Run the right script at the right phase. Stop asking questions in the Ebb. Stop pitching big plans in the Deep.

What men say once they've read it.

Wish I had read this in my twenties. Half the fights I had were me not noticing the week, then doubling down when she got quiet.
MM.K.Amsterdam · 34
Read it on a Tuesday flight. Tried one script on Friday. She stopped mid-sentence and asked what was different. That alone paid for it.
DD.R.Berlin · 29
Not a self-help book. More like a reference card. I keep the cheat sheet on my lockscreen and check it once a week.

Objections, handled

Six honest answers.

Is this tracking her without consent?+

No. Ocean Drop is a system you read. You learn the 4 phases of a typical cycle, then recognise them in the rhythm you already see. No app on her phone. No data on anyone else. Just a framework for the man holding the book.

What actually makes this different from everything else on the internet?+

Two things. One: it’s written for men — different language, different endpoint — while every other cycle resource is built for her. Two: every non-trivial claim is tagged to peer-reviewed evidence (Hantsoo 2020, Jünger 2018, Iacovides 2015). Most men’s-cycle content recycles 2014-era myths that have since been disproved. We don’t.

Is €7 the full thing, or is there a catch?+

The €7 Field Manual is a complete 13-page PDF with citations. Instant download, no trial, no subscription. The €17 Playbook adds 4 standalone phase deep-dive PDFs (8 pages each, cited), a lockscreen wallpaper with all 4 phases at a glance, and 30 days of priority email support. That is it.

Will she know I bought this?+

Only if you tell her. There is no shared account, no cloud sync, no notification. Most guys read it once, keep the one-page cheat sheet on their phone, and never bring it up. The ones who do show her almost always report a better conversation than they expected.

Does it work if she is on the pill / IUD / irregular?+

Hormonal contraception flattens the underlying curves this guide maps. Short version: you lose meaningful signal — but you still read better than the 92% of men who never look. The Field Manual calls out where the pattern changes under contraception so you don’t misapply it.

What if I buy it and it is obvious / useless?+

Then you are already ahead of the 92% of men who cannot name the 4 phases. Honestly — if any of the 8 scripts feels obvious to you already, you did not need this book. It is mostly written for the other 92%.
